Philosopy from 20 Years of Living

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

From my 20 years of living, and especially this week at Affiliate Summit Vegas, this is one of the biggest concepts of life I’ve learned and keep true to myself.

Being genuine comes at a price of exposing an honest heart and true mind to, in most cases, strangers. When you open up to the right people, they will do the same. Whether it’s an exchange of knowledge, a smile or just some humor. This is just how human interaction works.

Those that need to be forced to open up or don’t do the same in return probably aren’t the people you want to be associating with.

The interesting thing about humans is that it is difficult for most of us to see through the fog. But the irony is that it’s the few who are able to, that matter the most.

I have a lot to post about regarding Affiliate Summit Vegas, hope I have some time.

What the F*** is the Point?

Monday, February 11th, 2008

I’m sure you can all relate.

  1. What’s the point in asking permission from 10 other people before being able to reply to the client?
  2. What’s the point of a salesman when we are trying to create a relationship and not a sale?
  3. Wait, we are trying to create a relationship right…? or are we just trying to sell people?
  4. What is the point in having the biggest client in the market if we can’t meet their goals?
  5. What is the point in making promises? A promise in business is about as good as your buddy Carl giving you an “I O U”.
  6. What’s the point in making excuses?
  7. What’s the point in a sales team that can’t close sales?
  8. What’s the point of starting a relationship and not being able to grow it?

…There is no fucking point.

There Will Never Be an Ad On Here

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

There will never be an advertisement on this blog for my own profit.

If I like something, I will say so.  If I hate something I will say so.

I might plug some affiliate links BUT I will tell you first AND 100% goes to charity, period.

Anyone know any great blog designers?

Oooh Boy, This Week Has Been Sick

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

My brain is literally fried. I can’t think right now.

I hope you guys are working hard too for Valentines!

Oh, this post made me laugh and was pretty refreshing, check it out.

It’s true.

Why You Need To Just EFFEN Do It!

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

When was the last time a blog presented you with such rich, detailed and awe-inspiring information that you literally took those concepts, applied it that same night and started making money? Perhaps a better question would be: has that ever occurred?

The cold truth of this cutthroat industry is that nothing is given without a price tag. When your naivety leads you to follow blogs that lure you with a never ending stream of already-been-chewed strategies, you’ve more or less failed.

Truly successful people find success whether it’s through hard work or just sheer luck but never is it given for free. The fact that you haven’t built the motivation and lack the initiative effort to invest in valuable experimentation, already makes you a failure. Nobody ever succeeded on the first try, but many prevailed on their second try and many more prospered on their third try.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that you’re interested in the internet marketing industry and you want to research all you can. Blogs are a great resource in some aspects and for some purposes, but the two months you’ve wasted following a blog equates to just a few days of experimentation! Be a trooper, a “go getter”, a leader and pretend to know what you’re doing (it helps) because it’s undoubtedly more valuable than the crap you’re being fed right now.

I finally stopped failing last year. I decided to tread my own path instead of following thousands of others to the same gold mine that may or may not have existed. I dug dozens of empty holes but have struck gold many times. No blogs, no forums, no ebooks, just plain intiative.

Consider this: you can lead yourself to potential success or you can have a stranger lead you to potential success - choose your destiny.

PepperjamNetwork, Wtf?

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

So the Pepperjam team recently launched the PepperjamNetwork. I guess that’s all the “craze” right now but it seems like just any other network to me, which is a big disappointment. It was hyped up so much that I was expecting a lot more and there is already bad publicity flying around. But that’s what you get from blog owners who are friends with the people launching the product right? Sugar coated shit.

Here’s my take:

  1. There are really no interesting and/or unique offers/products/services that get me excited to promote. Nothing you can’t find anywhere else. CJ?
  2. Although I haven’t run into any problems myself, there has been things reported that are just plain annoying. Like for instance… If it took days to place tracking pixel.
  3. New networks should be explosive, this launch was more of a popper snapper. You know those little things you throw at a hard surface and they pop. Especially being the new company in town, you need to overturn expectations. We already know what we get from AzoogleAds or CJ.
  4. I guess they were emphasizing on open communication and affiliate transparency. So why wasn’t I contacted by an affiliate manager, yet the other networks did when I first joined?
  5. Referals are the worst I’ve seen. $5 to refer someone, that’s not even worth my time seriously wtf? All other networks at least give a % lifetime commission.
  6. The whole “communication” angle almost totally failed. On Copeac, for instance, I have 1 affiliate manager and he takes care of everything for me and he never fails to be on AIM from open of business to close of business and always checks his email. Why the hell would I want 20 different managers, not to mention having to inconveniently log on to the chat applet inside of the website?

So really, I doubt there will be much activity in my account for a while. I was pretty excited about this one but it turned out to be a real disappointment.

I give it a 5 out of 10. Most of the points are for having the balls to compete with huge long-standing networks.

But don’t take my word for it, try it out and let me know.

If anyone signs up THROUGH THIS AFFILIATE LINK, I’ll make a whopping $5 and I will match the total after the end of February and it will go to my favorite charity: room to read.

I’m Back, Trimming the Fat Out Blogs

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

How many times has it been? Well I guess it’s been only 1 time I deleted my blog, the last time I got hacked and was lazy.

So I’m back with my blog again and a new approach (checkout the title). I guess this is the only easy way I can develop a voice in the industry.

There’s so much “fat”, “noise” and just plain bullshit in blogs these days it’s just hilarious. Just about 99% of the blogs I started reading again are plain self-promoting bullshit blogs that are just about as good as an ebook. Regurgitated information with slightly different words used.

Don’t you ever think about what you’re actually reading?

Add me to your RSS reader as I present the No Bullshit Affiliate Marketing blog. Not bullshitting you.
