PepperjamNetwork, Wtf?
Thursday, January 24th, 2008So the Pepperjam team recently launched the PepperjamNetwork. I guess that’s all the “craze” right now but it seems like just any other network to me, which is a big disappointment. It was hyped up so much that I was expecting a lot more and there is already bad publicity flying around. But that’s what you get from blog owners who are friends with the people launching the product right? Sugar coated shit.
Here’s my take:
- There are really no interesting and/or unique offers/products/services that get me excited to promote. Nothing you can’t find anywhere else. CJ?
- Although I haven’t run into any problems myself, there has been things reported that are just plain annoying. Like for instance… If it took days to place tracking pixel.
- New networks should be explosive, this launch was more of a popper snapper. You know those little things you throw at a hard surface and they pop. Especially being the new company in town, you need to overturn expectations. We already know what we get from AzoogleAds or CJ.
- I guess they were emphasizing on open communication and affiliate transparency. So why wasn’t I contacted by an affiliate manager, yet the other networks did when I first joined?
- Referals are the worst I’ve seen. $5 to refer someone, that’s not even worth my time seriously wtf? All other networks at least give a % lifetime commission.
- The whole “communication” angle almost totally failed. On Copeac, for instance, I have 1 affiliate manager and he takes care of everything for me and he never fails to be on AIM from open of business to close of business and always checks his email. Why the hell would I want 20 different managers, not to mention having to inconveniently log on to the chat applet inside of the website?
So really, I doubt there will be much activity in my account for a while. I was pretty excited about this one but it turned out to be a real disappointment.
I give it a 5 out of 10. Most of the points are for having the balls to compete with huge long-standing networks.
But don’t take my word for it, try it out and let me know.
If anyone signs up THROUGH THIS AFFILIATE LINK, I’ll make a whopping $5 and I will match the total after the end of February and it will go to my favorite charity: room to read.
